Who We Are
Tunajali Tanzania is a locally founded, community-focused organization based in Moshi, Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, founded in 2019 and managed by Elisante and Consolata.
Through our years of working within Tanzania’s tourism sector and engaging closely with local communities, we have had the opportunity to meet families, children, schools, community leaders, and individuals from different walks of life. These relationships have helped us better understand some of the everyday challenges faced by communities in the Kilimanjaro region and beyond.
We believe that responsible and ethical tourism should go beyond introducing visitors to the natural beauty, culture, and people of Tanzania. It should also create opportunities to contribute positively to the communities that make Tanzania such a special place.
This belief inspired the establishment of Tunajali Tanzania, dedicated to supporting sustainable, community-led development projects in Tanzania.
What We Do
Our goal is to work alongside local communities to identify practical needs and support projects capable of creating meaningful and lasting impact.
Our areas of focus include:
Education support – helping children, schools, and learning initiatives access opportunities and essential educational resources.
Child sponsorship – connecting vulnerable children with support that can contribute to their education, development, and future opportunities.
Healthcare and community wellbeing – supporting initiatives that improve access to basic healthcare and promote healthier communities.
Clean water and water-well projects – helping communities improve access to safe and reliable water sources.
Livelihood and community development – supporting initiatives that help individuals and families develop skills, opportunities, and greater self-reliance.
Sustainable Community Development
At Tunajali Tanzania, we recognize that meaningful change takes time.
Our aim is not simply to provide short-term assistance. We seek to support initiatives that address genuine community needs, strengthen local capacity, create opportunities, and deliver benefits that can continue beyond an individual donation or volunteer placement.
By listening to communities and working together, we aim to develop projects that are practical, transparent, respectful, and sustainable.
Volunteer With Us in Tanzania
Tunajali Tanzania welcomes international and local volunteers who would like to contribute their skills, experience, ideas, and time to community projects in Tanzania.

​Depending on current community needs and a volunteer’s experience, opportunities may include supporting education, working with children and young people, community development, creative activities, digital and IT support, environmental initiatives, skills development, documentation, fundraising support, and other locally identified projects.

​We believe volunteering should be a two-way experience based on respect, cultural exchange, learning, collaboration, and responsible engagement with local communities.

Our volunteers do not come simply to work for communities. They come to work with communities.
