We would like to give you short information about the possibilities for volunteering with our NGO Tunajali. We are very happy that you are interested in working with us and you are most welcome in Moshi, Kilimanjaro.

Volunteering with us is possible from 1 week up to 6 month.

We can arrange to pick you up from Kilimajaro Airport: Price per transfer:  40 USD

There are different options where you can stay during your time as a volunteer. It depends on what you’re going to do and what kind of accommodation you prefer.

Accommodations:

​

Option 1: Guest family at Elisante and Consolata (founders of the NGO Tunajali), app. 6 km to Moshi town. You will share the house with our family.  All together we live in our home with 4 adults and 4 children. You’ll have your own room

and en-suite bathroom with cold shower.  The price per day is 10 USD including laundry, breakfast and dinner.

Option 2: Guest family at Jacquline. You’ll stay together with Jaqueline. She’s living alone

in her house and has the possibility to host up to 3 people in 2 rooms.  You’ll share the bathroom with her.  Jacquline is a friend of our family and the place where  she stays I very quiet but still close to town (app. 2 km).

The price per day is 10 USD including laundry and breakfast.  It’s also possible to get dinner at Jacquline, then the price per day is 15 USD.

Option 3: Guesthouse Mama Agnes Home.  We have a guesthouse in the village Materuni where we are doing a lot of our charity work. There are 3 rooms with Bathroom ensuite. Materuni is surrounded by beautiful nature. The price per day is 15 USD including laundry service, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Option 4:  Hotel or Hostel in town (Chanya Lodge, Honey Badger Lodge..). If you prefer this kind of accommodation we’ll find the perfect place for you together.

 

All the meals you’ll get in our accommodations 1-3 are local. If you have any allergies or intolerances, please tell us in advance.

If you want to volunteer in one of our Primary schools it would be helpful if you have a basic knowledge in Kiswahili.

Let us know what kind of volunteering work you prefer so we can give you further information about the projects. One of our last volunteers renovated a classroom at Wondo Primary School together with a group of local volunteers. Work like this is also possible and you’re more than welcome to bring your own ideas for projects.
