3-DAY KILIMANJARO, CHAGGA & MAASAI EXPERIENCE

Day 1

You will be picked up in the morning, by our English-speaking guide, who will drive you to the Kilimanjaro Park Gate (Marangu Gate, 1860m).

Then you will start your trek. The walk will last 3 to 4 hours to Mandara Hut (2700m). On the way, your guide will inform you all about Kilimajaro and explain the surrounding fauna and flora.

I addition to the lush vegetation, you will have the chance to spot various animals, such as black and white colobus monkeys and blue monkeys, as well as several bird species.

You may meet other mountain climbers descending from the top, and perhaps some of them will share their experience with you!

Around lunch time, you will reach Mandara Hut, where you will enjoy a delicious meal and a well deserved rest.

Then you will have the possibility to go for a short 15-minute walk to the Maundi Crater, where the views are truly breathtaking. You will be able to enjoy wonderful views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Northern Tanzania and Kenya.

Once you have thoroughly enjoyed the views, you will return to Mandara Hut where you will enjoy the view of Kilimanjaro at sun set. Thereafter you will have dinner and sleep in a mountain hut.

Day 2

Early in the morning you will have the possibility to enjoy the surrounding environment again and the sun rise over the mountain.

After breakfast, you will start to hike back to the Marangu Gate (2-3 hours walking distance), where your car will be waiting for your transfer to a Chagga village for Coffee tour.

Here you will learn how coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted and further processed. You will also be invited to help with the grinding of the coffee, which is traditionally accompanied by Chagga songs and dances - a fun way to immerse yourself in the local culture.

Before you say goodbye, you can savour the coffee you made and appreciate the views of the surrounding rainforest.

Thereafter, you will drive to a Maasai village for the overnight stay in a tent - where you can enjoy the sunset.

Day 3

After breakfast, you will enjoy the Maasai tour activities, visit the Maasai boma, enjoy Maasai dance, experience the Maasai local medicine, make a fire in a local way.
